Jillian York on Huffington Post reports on “Palestinian Bloggers Rail in the Wake of Obama Visit.” Jillian York quotes a headline ‘Obama visit all about wooing Jewish-American Voters.” Was there some question that he was going there to get their votes? Or is there some idea that he should campaign for the Arab-American vote despite the implicit truth in the New Yorker cover, that a decent percentage of American’s think he is Muslim? The Pew Center released an update on the issue on July 15th, saying that 12% of registered voters still believe Obama is Muslim. They survey did not give racial breakdown of the respondents, but when I surveyed Latino and Spanish language information last week, I found the phrase “Obama es Muselman” or “Obama no es Muselman” showing up over and over.
Over on Little Green Footballs, I was surprised to see them more interested in the slight to Reagan in Berlin than they specter of Obama taking on Middle East policy. Maybe the presence of Dennis Ross reassured them? Not!
But they really blew my mind at Pajamas Media with a story on why Obama may be able to scare Iran straight.
And while I was there I saw the strangest story of the week. Apparently McCain met with the Dali Lama in Colorado, but all the good Subaru with Tibetan Flag Sticker Democrats were genuflecting facing East and didn’t notice.
